Migrant Sunday 2018

The Migrant Ministry under the umbrella of PIHD of HFK organized the event. The Mass was presided by Rev. Father Andrew Kooi the various communities along with their families attended the Mass, with the banner 104th World Day of Migrants and Refugees with the theme was put up at the church entrance together with posters, flyers (Pope’s messages while many attended with their respective national costumes) and took part in the mass animation as readers, cantor, prayers of faithful, commentator, offertory presenters and choir. The hymns at Mass were a rich blend of traditional sounds — the offertory hymn was sung in Indonesian language.

After the Mass, this time around the migrant ministry organized a Mobile Clinic free Medical Screening at the Church hall for the migrants & refugees with the help of Mr Kong Min Ho of St John’s Ambulance Kajang.

He came with the team of 40 volunteers inclusive of Datuk Nelson Tan, 5 Doctors, nurses, dispensary and helpers.

About 120 migrants & refugees adults and children were registered for the medical screening.

After the medical screening, a fellowship was organized for all our migrant brothers and sisters, the organizing team from St John Ambulance and some of our parishioners also came to share time with our migrant friends.

The Migrant Ministry would like to extend our sincere thanks, terima kasih to our Parish Priest Rev Fr. Andrew Kooi, for all his support and guidance with our preparation of this event, the St John Ambulance Doctors and volunteers for the Mobile Clinic, PIHD for their assistance in financing the event, the Liturgical team for the arrangement of Mass animation, AOHD for the Migrant Sunday Materials, the Migrant Ministry core team members for their support and contribution in the funds raising project, fellowship and organizing the whole event.
