Dear beloved parishioners of Church of the Holy Family, Kajang
I thank my God, each time I think of you and when I pray, I pray with gladness. Phil 1:3
It was on 15th December 2016 that I first stepped into the parish office as a young, handsome, chubby seminarian after my seminary formation.
Honestly, I was looking forward very much to immersing myself into a parish setting and to experiencing pastoral ministry. Then there was a little graduation from seminarian to deacon on 4th February 2017. After serving as a Deacon for a few months, my long awaited big day arrived.
On the 1st of May 2017 I was ordained a Priest. What a journey it has been in Satay Land for exactly 5 years and 25 days!
Holy Family is my “First Love”. It is where I learnt many things from administering the sacraments to celebrating masses. I was also involved in the Church restoration work, and many other things. To help me grow physically and spiritually, many of you rendered helping hands. I have been truly blessed and have grown tremendously through the rich experiences I have gained here. This will become an anchor in my future pastoral roles.
A big syabas and thank you to my “first love”- Holy Family Kajang. I am grateful to all the past and present priests, the parish councils, language apostolates and the various ministries and parish groups. I am deeply grateful to our parish staff for the tireless and dedicated service towards the parish and supporting me as well. All of you showed exemplary leadership and it always served as a reminder in revisiting my priestly calling. Your effort truly is blessed.
A little change, a little pain but eventually a transition considered beneficial for the priest and parish alike. As all of you know, I have been transferred to the Church of St. Jude, Rawang. I am leaving HFK with many fond memories and solid experience that will be a great asset in my new role as parish priest of Church of St. Jude, Rawang.
Due to my human weakness, I surely have made mistakes, and made some of you disappointed and discouraged. From the bottom of my heart, I ask for your forgiveness and prayers.
Although I will be physically away from all of you, I remain spiritually close to you. You will be distant to my eyes but deep in my heart.
Please do keep me in your prayers as I will do the same for you.
I take this opportunity to also welcome the new Parish Priest, Fr Michael Chua and Assistant Priest, Fr Bonaventure Rayappan. I also convey my warm wishes and sincere thanks to Fr Philip Chua who remains at this parish for all his support and guidance too.
I ask each of you to bless them with your love, prayers and cooperation as you accorded me the same.
I look forward to seeing all of you in the Church of St. Jude. Rawang and leave you with much love and prayer.
Always United in Prayer. God Bless all of you
