The interzone games, “Holympics” were held over the course of 3 days with different sports events held on each day. Sporting events that took place were Badminton, Volleyball, Tug of war, Fun games, Netball, Carrom, Darts, Futsal and Captain ball. Participants put in loads of effort to practise for their events on church grounds and even in their own respective BECs. The zones that participated played all games with good sportsmanship and team spirit. Zones cheered their teams on and gave motivation and encouragement. It was a good event that brought young and old together. Overall, it was a great sight to see zones unite in sports and have fun.

This year’s Malaysia Day kicked off with Family Day. In honour of this day, we had special guests from the Inter-religious group of Kajang joining us for our celebration to celebrate the 1Malaysia family spirit. Father Surain welcomed them and launched the ceremony together with the guests of honour. The day was a great hit with many zones coming in to cook up a storm and families rushing in to try all the delicious food, games and entertainment. After the 8.30am community mass, there were people crowding around the food stalls and trying out the various games of chance. Children’s colouring and drawing competition were held to keep the kids busy. Many talented young and seasoned performers graced the stage to entertain the crowd. Winners of the Holympics were given their medals and the overall winner was given their well-deserved Holympics trophy. It was a day of fun that the whole family enjoyed together. There was something for all ages to enjoy. All smiles and laughter until the end of the day with people dancing and being jolly together.
